Proposify, a provider of online proposal software, today announced the successful completion of their 2020 System and Organizational Controls (SOC) 2® Type 1 examination. The achievement reflects their long-standing commitment to security, while giving them a competitive edge in their industry.
“We take the protection of the data and documents of our customers and others who interact with our software very seriously,” said Kyle Racki, CEO of Proposify. “Our team has always been dedicated to data security through continuous compliance efforts and 24/7 system monitoring. That’s why we worked with 360 Advanced: to ensure that we meet and exceed industry standards.”
The examination didn’t just validate the organization’s internal efforts. It also made it easier to communicate those efforts to interested parties – a time-saving measure, as a growing number of Proposify’s customers have been requesting data security and compliance initiatives as a condition of doing business.
“We have various procedures in place to protect information, but it’s not always possible for customers to verify that these precautions are put in place, or that they meet their own internal compliance requirements,” explained Jason Chakravorty, Proposify’s VP of Engineering. “SOC 2 compliance allows us to share this verified information with prospects and current customers to ensure that Proposify meets those requirements.”
The examination complemented Proposify’s other long-term compliance initiatives.
“Proposify has remained compliant with the UETA (1999), the ESIGN Act (2000), and eIDAS (eIDAS Regulation 910/2014/EC) since our electronic signatures feature was released more than six years ago. We have also remained GDPR compliant since 2018,” continued Chakravorty. “Ultimately, privacy, data security, and customer trust will always be of the utmost importance to Proposify, and verifying our level of compliance communicates our dedication to that.”
Proposify was audited against the AICPA Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, and Confidentiality. The SOC 2 Type 1 examination provided assurance that the company’s controls were designed and placed into operation as of a point in time.
The effort was completed by the professional and independent third-party audit firm, 360 Advanced, Inc.
“They guided us through the process,” noted Chakravorty. “It wasn’t just, ‘we’ll give you the info and leave you to it.’ The team was a pleasure to work with.”
