NetSource One, a managed services, network security, and data center services provider, today announced the successful completion of their seventh consecutive SOC 2 Type 2 examination, together with their first HIPAA security compliance assessment.
For the engagement, NetSource One was measured against the AICPA Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, and Confidentiality, as well as applicable HIPAA security rules.
The SOC 2 Type 2 examination reviewed the efficiency of the company’s controls over a period of time, while the HIPAA assessment ensured that the company follows appropriate procedures for storing, processing, and handling their clients’ electronic protected health information (ePHI).
These efforts demonstrate a substantially higher level of assurance and operational visibility than organizations that have not undergone these assessments. Clients who need to entrust NetSource One with their data can do so with confidence that the information will be appropriately protected.

This year was the company’s first year adding a HIPAA assessment to their engagement. They chose to have both initiatives completed by the professional and independent third-party audit firm, 360 Advanced, Inc.
By working with the same team for both engagements, NetSource One was able to streamline the entire process. The integrated approach allowed them to reduce the demands on their internal team, while gaining a more holistic evaluation of their security posture.
